WeLoveLocal is a social site with reviews and ratings of services (from restaurants to plumbers) across the UK. They recently put together some interesting visualisations of ratings across London. The green blobs are high ratings, the red low.


It’s interesting to see both the geographical distribution and the fact that they are predominantly positive. Perhaps its the relatively small size of the community which encourages accountability of activity and encourages positivity over negativity. More on the WeLoveLocal Blog

Thanks for the kind words! We’re working on more visualizations of our data and hopefully we’ll get some more up pretty soon! A lot of the reviews we get are generally positive – only 15% are 1 and 2 star reviews – which explains the lack of red on the video. I think that people definitely more up for reviewing places they like than places that are so-so.
